Maurice Franklin Weisner was born November 20, 1917, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He received his commission as Ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1941, and advanced to the rank of admiral in 1972. David Michael Rubel was born on December 2, 1917, in Fargo, North Dakota. He received his commission as Ensign in the U. S. Navy in 1941, and advanced to the rank of rear admiral in 1969.
